Well, finally, all of Mama Humming Birds coaxing paid off, my 'tiny friends' took that giant step,and flew away into the warm, blue afternoon sky! So sad to see the empty nest. Can you tell where it is, right next to the tree trunk? Early this morning the Mama kept coming w/nector
from the bird feeder, twitter and chirp, give them a little sip, then sit on the edge of nest with her mighty little wings just a fluttering. I could see the babies start to flutter their wings. I thought,
it won't be long now. Then this afternoon, they were gone.... But not gone away, they keep flying back to the tree, the 3 of them. So I hope they keep coming around to visit!
This is a pretty good close up of the nest. It looks like it is lined w/fluff from feathers. Wish I had brought out the ladder sooner! Still can't imagine how those two little birds fit into this teeny, tiny nest. Hope you all have enjoyed seeing them grow. Hummmm....wonder what grandma's next creature adventure will be??? I better keep my eyes open! Bye......

That didn't take long, maybe they will stay close. Maybe next you will get a moose???
Gee, aren't you the little queen blogger lately. I was beginning to think you nhad forgotten how until I checked today and you had posted a novel. Good job! The kids would have liked to see the baby birds. We had a similar experience here a few weeks ago only it was with robins. Keep up the good work, we'll be sure to check in more now that you have gotten back on the wagon!
