Grandma's cat, Miss Katie,
Is funny as can be!
She's found a new past time
That is hilarious to see!
Being stuck in the house
All these long winter months,
Has left her fat and sassy,
Leaving little energy to jump!
So to pass her time
She simply lies by the glass door,
Watching all the little birds Who flock
To the pan of seed on the deck floor!
She lies there so patient,
Like a Courgar ready to pounce!
And just at the right moment,
Hits the window with a bounce!
Snow Birds and Sparrows and Red Brested Wrens,
Scatter to all parts of the yard,
Having 'ole Billy Heck',
Scared out of them!
You can almost see a smerk
Come across her ole face,
"Take that, you birds!"
As she slowly moves to her plate.
But it's beginning to take on the appearence of a game,
As she takes her place at the window again.
And the birds, once their hearts are back in their chests,
Fly right back to the feeder, for one more scarey test!
So that's how Miss Katie
Is passing her days,
Till these little Snow Birds
Fly North, where winter really stays.
Then Miss Katie, can finally go out,
And lie in the grass, and dream all about
Chasing the birds on cold winter days
While listening to NEW Song Birds,
Who, for the summer have come to stay....
Love Grandma T.

You are quite the poet. I loved the one about the deer. My mom was good at writing poems and stories. Something that I didn't inherit.
