Guess What I Saw?....

"I looked out my window
And what did I SEE???.......
No, not 20 Quail,
Neath my ole Poplar Tree....

But THIS time I saw,
At 5:00 a.m.
As I got up for work,
A HERD OF DEER!!!

Yup, right here,
In front of my house,
Walking one by one,
As quiet as a mouse!

The snow is still deep,
So shoveled side walks
Are their new path,
Right up to Don's Roses, trotting quite fast...

They'd been thru my yard,
Only stopped to take a whiz...
Gee, does that sound,
Like some of my kids? haha

So after work, to my backyard,
With Apples I did go,
Filled the bird feeders with seed,
And lined the cut Apples in a row.

I know I shouldn't feed them,
Diarrea they will get,
But they eat them off the tree's,
So what difference could this be?....

It's fun to see the many trails,
As they wander round the yard,
This cute little Herd of TOWN DEER,
Live ALL YEAR in our back yards!

The Deer and Pheasant, Raccoon and Dove,
Have learned their SAFE from Hunters guns,
If they stay right here, in the middle of town,
To grace us with their presence, after the sun goes down.

So that's the latest,
Of things I've seen,
Yup, right here,
With my eyes so keen!

It's still not as AWESOME
As what Nate and Charity did spy,
That ole COURGAR who ran in front of them,
On their nightly run late that night....

But it brings solace to my soul,
For God's creatures I do love,
Yup, the Deer, the Raccoons,
The Pheasants and the Doves.

Right now my bird feeders
Are busy as can be,
Fore the Snow Birds have arrived,
And sworm the feeders in my tree's.

So all of my Grandkids,
Keep your eyes open WIDE.
And watch for little creatures
That each of you can SPY!

Yes, it is fun,
Fun as can be,
To see their cute antics
And songs so sweet.

Well, that's my story
And I'm sticking to it...
I'll keep you updated,
When I can add to it......

Love Grandma T.

I sure got a kick out of reading this little poem!! You are so clever when it comes to writing, I have no writing creativity, so I like to read others that do. I can't believe you had a herd of deer out there. I would love to get to watch them like you do.
